The Lun Bawang Girl

This is the second version of the Lun Bawang girl. After the first Lun Bawang girl I wanted to experiment and try a slight different version of her. In the previous painting she was faced to the side, it was a purposeful intention of side pose whereby i wanted to portray her in a sense of mystery and calm.

Which leads me to the second Lun Bawang Girl, for this particular work i wanted her to face us the viewers. I wanted her to evoke a sense of emotion, connection and communication.

The flower symbolizes grace and beauty. Just as any Lun Bawang girl when she place the beaded crown also known as “peta” she carries it with grace.
